Asian shares were trading lower after the US markets fell deeper into a bear market and due to growing expectations of sharper interest-rate hikes by the US Fed to fight high inflation. Japan’s Nikkei dropped 2% and Topix was down 1.55%. China’s Hang Seng fell 0.9% and CSI 300 lost 1.09%.<\/p>

Bajaj Finance Ltd<\/strong>: The company said it has raised fixed deposit interest rates on various tenors — 24-60 months — by up to 20 basis points. This will not include deposits of 44 months tenor, it added. The revised rates on are effective from June 14, 2022, and will be applicable to fresh deposits and renewals of maturing deposits, the lender said.<\/p>

Zydus Lifesciences<\/strong>: The company said its Rs 750 crore-share buyback offer will commence on June 23 and close on July 6. The drug firm has fixed July 15, 2022 as the last date for the settlement of bids on stock exchanges, according to a regulatory filing. The company’s board has approved the proposal to buyback a little over 1.15 crore shares, representing up to 1.13 per cent of the total paid-up equity share capital of the company.<\/p>

Metropolis Healthcare<\/strong>: The diagnostic chain said its promoters have no intention to exit the business. In a regulatory filing, the company said its promoters are focused on strengthening the Metropolis brand, although it continuously keeps exploring various strategic options\/investment opportunities.<\/p>

Infosys<\/strong>: The IT major will set up four new offices in tier-2 cities in order to get closer to bring available talent pool. The company already had smaller centres in Indore and Nagpur, but will now set up offices in Coimbatore, Vizag, Kolkata and Noida.<\/p>

Bharti Airtel<\/strong>: The telecom operator announced that their video streaming service, Airtel Xstream, achieved 2-million paid subscriber mark. The company aims to achieve 20 million paid subscriber mark.<\/p>

Network 18<\/strong>: The company’s subsidiary, Viacom18, has won the rights to stream the Indian Premier League for the next five years.<\/p>

NTPC<\/strong>: The state-owned company has awarded Amara Raja Power Systems, a part of the USD 1.3 billion Amara Raja group, to set up India’s first green hydrogen fuelling station in Leh. The pilot project is being set up in Leh’s extreme conditions at a height of 3,600 meters above sea level. This is in line with the government’s vision of achieving net-zero carbon emission by 2070.<\/p>

Delta Corp<\/strong>: HDFC Mutual Fund acquired an additional 2.15% equity stake in the company via open market transactions on June 10. With this, its shareholding in the company stands increased to 9.21%, up from 7.06% earlier.<\/p>

Torrent Power<\/strong>: The power generation company has completed the acquisition of a 50 MW solar power plant from SkyPower Group in Telangana for an enterprise value of Rs 416 crore. The long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for the project is with Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana (NPDCTL) for a period of 25 years at a fixed tariff of approximately Rs 5.35 per kWh, with remaining useful life of approximately 20 years.<\/p>

Aether Industries<\/strong>: SBI Mutual Fund bought additional 3.23 lakh equity shares in the company via open market transactions. With this, its shareholding in the company stands increased to 5.18%, up from 4.92% earlier.<\/p>

WPIL<\/strong>: The company has received a contract order valued at Rs 430.87 crore from the Government of West Bengal for the execution of a project comprising commissioning of a clear water reservoir and a ground-level reservoir. The contract is expected to be completed over a period of 24 months.<\/p>

Dynamatic Technologies<\/strong>: The company has secured a contract to manufacture the escape hatch door for Airbus A220 aircraft.
