The Sensex closed 0.40% up at 52,653.07 and Nifty advanced 0.44% to 15,778.45.<\/p>\n<p>In the metal sector, Hindalco (10.04%), NALCO (8.7%) and Tata Steel (6.86%) were the top three gainers. Its net sales rose 12% to Rs 1158 crore in the quarter, from Rs 1033.6 crore last year. The company&#8217;s cost of material consumed increased by 28.3%.
