                A Simple Example: <\/strong>If you were to invest \u20b95,000 every month for 10 years in dividend-paying shares with an average dividend yield of 3%, after 10 years you would have invested \u20b96 lakh altogether, and with moderate growth and dividend reinvestment, your investment would now be worth somewhere between \u20b99 lakh\u2013\u20b910 lakh and pay you a whopping’ \u20b925,000 or \u20b930,000 annually in dividends without you moving a finger. Now extend that logic over a 20- or 30-year time frame\u2014that investment account will probably be in the range of a few lakh or crores, making rather than giving dividend income at least on par and possibly more than your monthly cost of living.
