Gift Nifty indicates a flat to negative start for the broader index in India, with a loss of 22 points or 0.09 percent. The Nifty futures were trading around the 26,109 level.<\/p>

U.S. stocks closed higher on Wednesday, as the Dow Industrials and S&P 500 registered record closing highs in a broad rally during a holiday-shortened session.<\/p>

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 288.75 points, or 0.60%, to 48,731.16, the S&P 500 gained 22.26 points, or 0.32%, to 6,932.05, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 51.46 points, or 0.22%, to 23,613.31.<\/p>

The US markets were shut on Thursday for Christmas.<\/p>

Asian stocks edged higher in thin trade Friday as Japanese and South Korean shares gained while many regional markets remained shut for holidays.<\/p>

Japan’s Nikkei, Hong Kong\u2019s Hang Seng, and the Taiwanese weighted went up 0.99, 0.17, and 0.29 percent, respectively.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Lenskart Solutions<\/b><\/strong><\/p>

The Board of Lenskart Solutions Pte (Singapore), the wholly owned subsidiary of Lenskart Solutions, has approved an investment of KRW 3 billion (approximately Rs 18.6 crore) for the acquisition of a 29.24% stake in Korea-based startup iiNeer Corp. iiNeer develops technology-enabled eye-testing and lens-cutting equipment.<\/p>

Gujarat Gas<\/b><\/strong><\/p>

Milind Torawane, IAS, has resigned as Managing Director (MD) of the company with effect from December 24, consequent to his appointment as Principal Secretary to the Government, Education Department (Primary & Secondary Education). The Gujarat Government has appointed Avantika Singh Aulakh, IAS, as the Managing Director of Gujarat Gas.<\/p>

NTPC<\/b><\/strong><\/p>

The company has commissioned the second and final part of 13 MW out of the 23 MW capacity of the Solapur Solar PV project at NTPC Solapur, Maharashtra. With this, the total installed and commercial capacity of NTPC on a standalone and group basis now stands at 60,796 MW and 85,623 MW, respectively.<\/p>

UltraTech Cement<\/b><\/strong><\/p>

The company announced the commissioning of additional cement capacity at its Maharashtra and Rajasthan units, leading to an increase in production capacity of 1.8 mtpa. As a result, its total domestic grey cement manufacturing capacity stands at 188.66 mtpa. Along with its overseas capacity of 5.4 mtpa, the company\u2019s global capacity stands at 194.06 mtpa.<\/p>

Strides Pharma Science<\/b><\/strong><\/p>

The United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) conducted a routine current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) inspection at the formulations facility of the company\u2019s subsidiary, Strides Pharma Inc., in the US from December 17 to December 23. Following the inspection, the USFDA issued a Form 483 with four observations. These observations are procedural in nature, and the company does not anticipate any impact on the supply of its commercial products.<\/p>
