Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded\n191 points, or 1.28 per cent, lower at 14734.7 in signs that Dalal Street was\nheaded for a negative start on Friday. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

The S&P 500 finished at a fresh record\nas investors weighed strong earnings and good economic data against concerns\nequities have little room to rise after a strong run. After a volatile session\nin which the index tripped into negative territory at midday, the broad-based\nS&P500 index ended with a gain of 0.7 percent at 4,211.47. The Dow Jones\nIndustrial Average index rose 0.7 percent to finish at 34,060.36, while the\ntech-rich Nasdaq Composite index advanced 0.2 percent to 14,082.55.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

Titan\nCompany:<\/b> The Tata group firm reported an increase of\n65.6 per cent in its consolidated net profit to Rs 568 crore for the fourth\nquarter ended March 31, helped by a strong growth in jewellery segment. It had\nposted a net profit of Rs 343 crore in the January-March 2020 quarter.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

Ambuja\nCements<\/b>: The cement maker, part of Swiss firm LafargeHolcim,\nreported a 65.4 per cent jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,228.24 crore\nfor the first quarter ended March 2021, helped by volume growth.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

Escorts:<\/b> Farm\nequipment major Escorts said it will temporarily shut down its manufacturing\noperations on a selective basis between May 1 and May 3 amid the deteriorating\nCovid-19 situation in the country.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

CPCL:<\/b>\nChennai Petroleum Corporation, a group company of Indian Oil, has reported\nstandalone net profits at Rs 332.95 crore for the quarter ending March 31,\n2021.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>
