POSTMARKET
Indian equity indices snapped a four-session gaining streak on Wednesday, October 8, after weak global cues dampened the sentiment, leading to some profit-booking in a volatile session.
At close, the Sensex was down 153.09 points or 0.19 percent at 81,773.66, and the Nifty was down 62.15 points or 0.25 percent at 25,046.15. About 1697 shares advanced, 2297 shares declined, and 138 shares remained unchanged.
Among sectors, except consumer durables, IT, all other sectoral indices ended in the red with realty, telecom, pharma, oil & gas, media, PSU Bank,and auto down 0.3-2%.
Tata Motors, UltraTech Cement, Jio Financial, ONGC, and Trent were among the major losers on the Nifty, while gainers were Titan Company, Infosys, TCS, Tech Mahindra, and Max Healthcare.
Among the broader market indices, the BSE Midcap index shed 0.7% and the Smallcap indices declined 0.4%.

Samvardhana Motherson
The shares of Samvardhana Motherson dropped more than 2 percent after luxury carmaker BMW cut its 2025 earnings forecast due to weak sales in China and tariff costs. Samvardhana Motherson derived 5 percent of its 2024 revenue from the German carmaker.
Saatvik Green Energy
Saatvik Green Energy share price gained more than 9 percent, after the company received an order aggregating to Rs 488 crore from renowned independent power producers/EPC for the supply of solar PV modules, which will be executed in the FY26.
Eimco Elecon
The shares of Eimco Elecon (India) jumped 20 percent to hit the upper circuit on October 8 after ace investor Vijay Kedia bought a stake worth nearly Rs 11 crore in the company.
Brightcom Group
Shares of Brightcom Group went up 13 percent after the exchanges revised their circuit limits. The shares recovered today after three sessions of decline.
