Gift Nifty indicates a flat negative start for the Indian market; US Market ended mixed; Asian stocks opened lower

PRE MARKET

Gift Nifty indicates a flat to negative start for the broader index in India, with a loss of 44.5 points or 0.17 percent. The Nifty futures were trading around the 25,874.50 level.

The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq closed higher on Monday, with artificial intelligence-related deals driving much of the gains even as the Federal Reserve’s near-term monetary policy grew increasingly foggy due to the scarcity of official U.S. economic data.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 226.19 points, or 0.48%, to 47,336.68, the S&P 500 gained 11.77 points, or 0.17%, to 6,851.97, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 109.77 points, or 0.46%, to 23,834.72.

Asian stocks opened lower Tuesday after weaker US economic data and uncertainty over the Federal Reserve’s policy outlook weighed on sentiment.

Japan’s Nikkei and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng went up 0.12 percent and 0.30 percent, while the KOSPI index went down 1.61 percent.
