Indian equity indices ended flat; Sectoral indices ended mixed; Broader market indices ended in green

POST MARKET

Benchmark indices have remained under pressure, The Sensex ended the day with a loss of 135 points, or 0.18%, at 75,183.36, while the Nifty 50 settled at 23,654.70, down 4 points, or 0.02%.

Meanwhile, crude oil benchmark Brent Crude jumped more than 2% on Thursday to trade above the $107 per barrel mark amid reports of further tensions in the Middle East.

Among the sectoral indices, gains in realty, healthcare and select auto stocks were offset by weakness in financial, IT and FMCG counters despite supportive global cues and easing crude oil prices.

However, the mid and small-cap segments ended higher. The BSE 150 Midcap index climbed by 0.18%, while the BSE 250 Smallcap index jumped 0.70%.

Grasim Industries
Stocks of Grasim Industries rose 5%,. The company narrowed its March quarter net loss, and revenue was sharply above analysts’ estimate. The Aditya Birla Group firm reported a standalone net loss of Rs 164 crore for the quarter ended March 31, compared with a loss of Rs 288 crore a year earlier.

Sammaan Capital
Shares of mortgage-focused Sammaan Capital Ltd. rallied as much as 9 percent on May 21 after the company outlined an aggressive long-term growth strategy and completed a major balance sheet clean-up during the March quarter.Company plans expansion into gold, business, and personal loans.
