Gift Nifty indicates a flat to negative start for the broader index in India, with a gain of 28 points or 0.11 percent. The Nifty futures were trading around the 24,756 level.
All three major U.S. stock indexes scored their biggest daily percentage increases since May 27 on Monday as investors sought bargains after the previous session’s selloff and ramped up bets for a September interest rate cut after Friday’s weaker-than-expected jobs data.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 585.06 points, or 1.34%, to 44,173.64, the S&P 500 gained 91.93 points, or 1.47%, to 6,329.94, and the Nasdaq Composite climbed 403.45 points, or 1.95%, to 21,053.58.
Asian stocks rose at the open after a wave of dip buying and optimism about interest-rate cuts helped the S&P 500 post its biggest rally since May.
Japan’s Nikkei, the Taiwanese weighted index, went up 0.63 and 0.74 percent, respectively, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng went down 0.35 percent.

One 97 Communications Paytm
Antfin, owned by the Alibaba Group, is likely to sell a 5.84% equity stake in Paytm via block deals. The block size may be around Rs 3,800 crore. As of June 2025, Antfin (Netherlands) Holding BV held a 5.84% stake in Paytm.
Kaynes Technology India
The company’s subsidiary, Kaynes Circuits India, has entered into a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu for an investment of Rs 4,995 crore over six years. The investment will be used for the establishment of manufacturing facilities, including greenfield projects and capacity expansions within Tamil Nadu.
IndusInd Bank
Shares of troubled private lender IndusInd Bank Ltd may see some cheer on the bourses on Tuesday, August 5, after the Reserve Bank of India approved the appointment of Rajiv Anand as the new managing director and CEO.
Tata Investment Corporation
Tata Investment Corporation announced its first-ever stock split in the ratio of 1:10. This means that every single share held by its eligible shareholders will be split into 10, without changing the overall value of their holding.
