Gift Nifty indicates a positive start for the Indian market; US Market closed higher; Asian markets also traded higher following the Wall Street

PRE MARKET

Gift Nifty indicates a positive start for the broader index in India, with a gain of 110 points or 0.43 percent. The Nifty futures were trading around the 25,720.50 level.

Wall Street closed higher on Thursday, nudging the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq nearer to record closing highs as the Israel-Iran ceasefire continued to hold and a raft of economic indicators appeared to support the case for the U.S. Federal Reserve lowering borrowing costs this year.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 404.41 points, or 0.94%, to 43,386.84, the S&P 500 gained 48.86 points, or 0.80%, to 6,141.02, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 194.36 points, or 0.97%, to 20,167.91.

Asian stocks advanced, and a gauge of global equities was on track for another record high, driven by calming geopolitical concerns and increased expectations for Federal Reserve interest-rate cuts this year.

Japan’s Nikkei went up 1.60 percent, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng also increased nearly 0.5 percent, whereas the Taiwanese weighted index scaled up 0.12 percent.
