Gift Nifty indicates a positive start; US markets ended higher; Asian markets traded with modest gains

PRE MARKET

Gift Nifty indicates a positive start for the broader index in India, with a gain of 87 points or 0.33 percent. The Nifty futures were trading around the 26,407 level.

Wall Street ended higher on Monday, with surging financial shares helping lift the Dow Jones Industrial Average to an all-time peak, while energy firms jumped after a U.S. military strike captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

The S&P 500 climbed 0.64% to end the session at 6,902.05 points. The Nasdaq gained 0.69% to 23,395.82 points, while the Dow rose 1.23% to 48,977.18 points.

Asian equities posted a modest gain at the open on Tuesday, holding near record levels as geopolitical concerns failed to deter investors from adding to their portfolios.

Japan’s Nikkei, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng, and the Taiwanese weighted index went up 0.81, 1.4,4, and 0.50 percent respectively.

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation

ONGC has signed joint venture agreements and capital contribution agreements with Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), Japan, to subscribe to equity shares in two joint venture entities, Bharat Ethane One IFSC and Bharat Ethane Two IFSC, which are registered in GIFT City, Gandhinagar. Each joint venture company will own and operate one Very Large Ethane Carrier (VLEC). These VLECs will operate under the Indian flag. They will be deployed for the transportation of ethane from the United States of America to meet the feedstock requirements of the company’s subsidiary, ONGC Petro Additions (OPaL).

Awfis Space Solutions

Ravi Dugar has resigned from the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Key Managerial Personnel of the company to pursue better career opportunities, effective February 2, 2026. The Board has appointed Sumit Rochlani as Chief Financial Officer, effective February 3.

Waaree Energies

The company’s subsidiary, Waaree Energy Storage Solutions, has raised Rs 1,003 crore from a cluster of strategic investors, including family offices, high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), and institutional investors. This fundraiser is part of the announced capex of Rs 10,000 crore for the establishment of a 20 GWh advanced lithium-ion cell and battery pack manufacturing plant.

NBCC has received orders worth Rs 45.87 crore from Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University, Odisha, and Rs 88.18 crore from the Odisha School Programme Authority, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
