The Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty are likely to see a highly volatile start ahead of the Union Budget 2026-2027 announcement in Parliament today.
Gift Nifty futures closed at 25,443 on Friday, indicating the NSE Nifty 50 is likely to open above its previous close of 25,320.65.
The Indian stock and commodity markets are open today, as the BSE, NSE, and MCX have announced a special trading session on Budget Day.
On the 30th, the domestic equity market indices ended with slight losses, with the Nifty 50 closing below the 25,350 level.

HBL Engineering

MOIL
The company has received approval from the Ministry of Steel for a joint venture agreement and the formation of a joint venture company between MOIL and Madhya Pradesh State Mining Corporation (MPSMCL) for manganese ore mining in Madhya Pradesh.
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation
HPCL has executed a Share Subscription and Shareholders Agreement (SSSHA) with IIT Kanpur-incubated deep-tech startup Maraal Aerospace at IEW 2026 in Goa, aimed at strengthening India’s clean-energy and deep-tech aerospace ecosystem. HPCL is investing Rs 2 crore in the startup to accelerate product development, testing, and system validation, enabling faster product realization and scale-up.
Ola Electric Mobility
Ola Electric will lay off 5 percent of its workforce as part of a restructuring effort, the electric scooter manufacturer said. The company stated that it is “doubling down” on speed and discipline through increased automation across its front-end operations, adding that it is building a “leaner organisation” positioned for long-term, profitable growth.
