The Indian benchmark indices ended higher for the third consecutive session on November 12 as the India-U.S. trade deal is getting finalised soon, and the exit polls indicate a decisive victory for the NDA in Bihar.
At close, the Sensex was up 595.19 points or 0.71 percent at 84,466.51, and the Nifty was up 180.85 points or 0.70 percent at 25,875.80. About 2381 shares advanced, 1655 shares declined, and 144 shares remained unchanged.
The biggest Nifty gainers were Asian Paints, Adani Enterprises, Tech Mahindra, TCS, HDFC Life, while losers were Tata Steel, TMPV, Bharat Electronics, Shriram Finance, and Grasim Industries.
Except, realty, all other sectoral indices ended in the green with media, auto, telecom, IT, and consumer durables up 1-2 percent.
Among the broader market indices, the BSE Midcap index rose 0.4 percent, and the smallcap index added 0.7 percent.

Tata Power
The shares of Tata Power dropped almost 2 percent after the company released its results for the second quarter of the ongoing financial year 2026. Brokerage calls remain mixed for the stock, as the earnings missed most estimates.
Max Financial Services
The shares of Max Financial Services hit a fresh record high of over 5 percent as brokerages remained positive despite the firm reporting a sharp fall in net profit and revenue during the second quarter of the ongoing FY26.
HAL
The shares of Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) sharply dropped 2.35 percent after the defence player released its results for the second quarter a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,669.07 crore for the July-September quarter of FY26.
TCS
The information technology (IT) company TCS shares extended their gains for the third straight session with an increase of 2.78 percent, supported by optimism over a possible India-US trade deal and expectations of an end to the prolonged US government shutdown.
