The markets ended on a mixed yet positive note. Nifty closed at 24,734, Sensex added 150 points, but mid- and small-cap stocks lagged. While GST reforms drove early strength, profit-taking shifted the tone later in the day.
Among sectors, auto index up nearly 1 percent, FCMG index up 0.3 percent, while IT, media, metal, oil & gas, realty, power, PSU Bank down 0.5-1 percent.
