Benchmark Indian indices closed higher as metal, auto, realty stocks gained. The Sensex was 0.63% higher at 61350.26 and Nifty was 0.63% higher at 18268.40
Nifty Auto index was up by 2.00% and Nifty IT closed 1.33% higher.
Indian rupee fell 12 paise to close at 74.95 against the US dollar.
