Market Opening - An Overview
Nifty futures on Singapore Exchange were trading 0.04% lower at 16,556, signalling that Dalal Street was headed for a negative-to-flat start on Tuesday.
Indian rupee closed at 74.24 against the US dollar on Monday.
Asian shares were mixed as the Hang Seng index was down 0.21% and Shanghai Composite index fell 0.10%, while Japan’s Nikkei gained 0.52% in early trade on Tuesday.
Wall Street indices closed at record highs as investors bought defensive sectors’ stocks and pared earlier losses in the session.

Adani Enterprises: The company’s subsidiary Adani Road Transport said it will acquire 49% stake in Maharashtra Border Check Post Network Ltd (MBCPNL), a subsidiary of Sadbhav Infrastructure Project Limited (SIPL) for Rs 1,680 crore. MBCPNL covers 20% of the commercial road traffic on India and connects Maharashtra to 6 neighbouring states. Shares of Adani Enterprises closed at Rs 1,430 per share.
Devyani International: The company had a strong market debut on Monday as its shares got listed at Rs 141 on the bourses, a 57% above the issue price of Rs 90 per share. The IPO got a healthy response from the investors as the issue got subscribed 116.7 times. Avenue Supermarts: The company which owns D-Mart stores surpassed Axis Bank and L&T in market capitalization as the shares prices hit a record high in intraday on Monday. The company’s management does not see any disruption in its supply chain and expects sales to pick up as lockdown restriction are lifter gradually. Shares of Avenue Supermarts hit a record high of Rs 3,655.95 in intraday and pared some gains to close at Rs 3633.50.
