Market Opening - An Overview
SGX Nifty futures were down 0.32 percent at 17384, indicating a weak opening for Indian equity indices on Friday.
Asian shares were mixed on Friday ahead of key U.S. jobs data and as traders weighed the impact of omicron virus strain as well as the prospect of a swifter reduction in Federal Reserve stimulus. Japan’s Nikkei was down 0.22%, while Topix was up 0.55%. China’s CSI 300 inched up 0.03% and Hang Seng dropped 1.19%.
Indian rupee fell 9 paise to close at 74.99 against the US dollar on Thursday.

Biocon: The biotechnology company said that it has received an approval from the US health regulator to market a generic product. The US Food and Drug Administration has given approval to market Mycophenolic Acid in the US, the company said in a regulatory filing.
Reliance Capital: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) moved Mumbai bench of National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) for the insolvency and bankruptcy proceeding of Reliance Capital. The central bank said that there would be an interim moratorium on and from the filing of the application till its admission or rejection by the NCLT.
Reliance Infrastructure: The Supreme Court has dismissed a plea filed by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) seeking a review of its judgement which upheld the 2017 arbitration award of around Rs 4,600 crore in favour of Reliance Infrastructure subsidiary, Delhi Airport Metro Express Pvt Ltd (DAMEPL), enforceable against it. The judges said no case for review is made out and dismissed the plea.
Dhanlaxmi Bank: The lender in a regulatory filing said that its part-time Chairman G Subramonia Iyer has resigned on personal grounds. His resignation is to be effective from December 31, 2021, the bank added.
