Market Opening - An Overview
GIFT Nifty on the NSE IX were trading 0.05% lower at 19,468.50, signalling that Dalal Street was headed for muted start on Thursday.
Most Asian shares were trading higher, helped by fresh hopes of the Fed nearing the end of hawkish monetary policy. The Nikkei 225 index rose 0.57% and the Topix gained 0.59%. The Hang Seng rose 0.51%, while the CSI 300 index dropped by 0.31%.
The Indian rupee fell 2 paise to close at 82.73 against the US dollar on Wednesday.
Aeroflex Industries will debut on the BSE and NSE on August 31. The final issue price was Rs 108 per share.

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL): The state-owned company has secured an order for setting up 2×800 MW Supercritical Thermal Power Project Stage-II at Lara in Chhattisgarh through international competitive bidding. The deal entails designing, engineering, manufacture, supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning with civil and structural works for the EPC project.
Sula Vineyard: Verlinvest Asia PTE is likely to offload up to a 12.56% stake in Sula Vineyards Ltd through a block deal, according to media reports. The block deal may happen in the price range of Rs 473 to Rs 508.7 per share.
Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL): The public sector enterprise has emerged as the lowest bidder for various projects of Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation. The total project cost is Rs 256.19 crore.
Punjab National Bank (PNB): The state-owned lender has launched a mobile application based on the GST Sahay scheme. With this integration, PNB has became the first public sector bank to facilitate seamless credit flow to MSMEs using GST invoices, the lender said in a statement.
Ajanta Pharma: The drug maker has received the final approval from the USFDA to launch and market Topiramate Extended-Release Capsules of doses 25 mg, 50 mg, 100 mg and 200 mg. Topiramate is the generic version of Supernus Pharmaceuticals Inc’s Trokendi XR. Ajanta is expected to launch Topiramate before February 1, 2026.
SJVN: The company said in its annual report that the project portfolio of SJVN & its associate companies now stands at an all-time high with 79 projects aggregating 55,814 MW and three transmission lines totalling 340 Kms spread across 13 states and 2 countries of the Indian sub-continent.

Andhra Paper: Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board has approved Consent to Operate (CTO) and Hazardous Waste Authorization (HWA) to include Precipitated Calcium Carbonate process to ensure efficient carbon capture and reuse which will reduce carbon emission. This process yields lower paper production cost and improves the paper opacity, bulk and brightness. There is no additional paper and pulp production capacity increase.
Mahindra Logistics: The logistics company said that its board of directors has appointed Saurabh Taneja as Chief Financial Officer and key managerial personnel of the company with effect from September 1. The board has also appointed Ashay Shah as Senior Management Personnel and Head – LMD & Strategy of the company effective from October 1.
Natco Pharma: The company has bought a stake of 5.79%, which is worth $2 million, in Delaware-based ISCA Inc for the biocontrol of pests. ISCA had a turnover of $9.3 million in the last fiscal year ending December 2022. ISCA is engaged in the business of pest control for agriculture.
Zee Entertainment Enterprises: Quant Mutual Fund has offloaded 48.15 lakh equity shares in the media company through open market transactions at an average price of Rs 266.61 per share. The total sale aggregated to Rs 128.38 crore.
Kamat Hotels: The company’s board has approved the acquisition of 100% equity stake in Envotel Hotels Himachal Private Limited. With this transaction, Envotel will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company. The cost of acquisition is Rs 50 lakhs.
Sasken Technologies: The Board has approved the appointment of Girish B V S as the chief technology officer of the company. He will replace Venugopal Ramakrishnan effective August 29, 2023.
