Gift Nifty indicates a positive start opening; US markets on a negative note; Asian markets traded negative

PRE MARKET

Gift Nifty was trading around 23,192.00 level, a discount of nearly 94.50 points.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined -93.24 points, or 0.18%, to 50,775.54, while the S&P 500 slipped 200.57 points, or 2.64%, to 7,383.74. The Nasdaq Composite closed 1,121.53 points, or 4.18%, lower at 25,709.43 on friday.

Asian markets tumbled on Monday, 8 June as investors rushed to book profits in technology stocks, triggering a sharp pullback in the artificial intelligence-driven rally that had powered global equities to record highs.

Japan’s Nikkei, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng, and the Taiwanese weighted index edged down -3.62, -0.87, and -3.60 percent respectively.

The company has received the lowest bidder (L-1) status awarded by UP Jal Nigam (Urban), Varanasi for construction work. The estimated order value is approximately Rs 102.8 crore.

Alembic Pharmaceuticals
The company will acquire a 45 percent stake in a newly incorporated Canadian corporation as part of its strategy to expand its presence in the pharmaceutical market. It has executed a Shareholders’ Agreement to invest in the venture and will hold a 45 percent equity stake pursuant to the agreement.

Allied Blenders and Distillers
Alok Gupta has resigned as the Managing Director (MD) of the company, effective May 31, 2026. The Board has appointed Amar Sinha as the new Managing Director, effective June 1, 2026.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises
The Board of Directors will meet on June 10 to consider raising funds through the issuance of equity shares and/or other securities convertible into equity shares, in one or more tranches.

Hindustan Zinc
The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) to develop a 250-hectare ecological restoration project in Rajasthan.
