Post Market Analysis: Dalal Street rises on broad-based buying; Ruchi Soya, GAIL, Godrej Inds and India Cements in news

Major stock indices closed higher for the second day in a row on broad-based buying. The Sensex surged 1.17% and the Nifty rose 1.13%.

In broader markets, Nifty Midcap 100 soared 1.38% and BSE Smallcap advanced 1.2%.

Top gainers in Nifty sectoral indices were IT [2.54%], Private Bank [1.84%], Auto [1.56%], Financial Services [1.51%] and FMCG [1.04%]. Top loser was Energy index that fell 0.97%.

Indian rupee was little changed at 77.56 against the US dollar on Friday.

Ruchi Soya Industries: The edible oil major Friday reported a 25% decline in its standalone net profit to Rs 234.33 crore for the quarter ended March 2022, compared with a net profit of Rs 314.33 crore in the year-ago period. The company’s total income rose to Rs 6,676.19 crore in the fourth quarter from Rs 4,859.5 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal.

GAIL India: The public sector company reported a 40% jump in its March quarter net profit as margins on natural gas sales rose. Its net profit during Q4FY22 stood at Rs 2,683.11 crore, compared with Rs 1,907.67 crore in the same period a year back. Revenue from operations rose to Rs 26,968.21 crore from Rs 15,549.07 crore in January-March 2021.

Godrej Industries: The company’s consolidated net profit of Rs 422.82 crore for fourth quarter ended March 2022, as against a loss of Rs 92.17 crore for the same quarter of previous fiscal year. Revenue from operations during the quarter under review stood at Rs 4,444.87 crore compared to Rs 2,610.69 crore in the year-ago period.

India Cements: The company posted a net loss of Rs 10.6 crore in Q4FY22 as against a net profit of Rs 50.2 crore in the year-ago period. Its revenue from operations fell to Rs 1,417.62 crore in the reported quarter compared with Rs 1,472.45 crore. The company’s board has approved

Delhivery Ltd: The company was granted the US patent for its proprietary technology product “Addfix” by the United States Patent Office. The patent covers the company’s innovation in address verification and location mapping, it said in a regulatory filing.

Allcargo Logistics: The company reported nearly five-fold rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 246.85 crore for quarter ended March 2022, as against a net profit of Rs 53.71 crore in the year-ago period. Income went up to Rs 5,786.65 crore in the reported quarter from Rs 3,360.07 crore in the year-ago period.

Siemens Ltd: The company has approved the sale and transfer of company’s Large Drives Applications Business to Siemens Large Drives India Pvt Ltd, for Rs 440 crore. Siemens Large Drives India is a subsidiary of Siemens Large Drives GmbH, which is a subsidiary of Siemens AG.

VRL Logistics: The company’s standalone net income jumped 51% at Rs 56.19 crore as against Rs 37.16 crore in the same period last fiscal. Revenue rose 11% to Rs 665.13 crore in Q4FY22 compared with Rs 600.15 crore in the year-ago period. Ebitda increased 32% YoY to Rs 125.79 crore in the reported quarter.
