Market Opening - An Overview

Nifty futures were trading 37 points higher at 17,787 on the Singaporean Exchange, indicating thath Indian stock markets is expected to open higher on Monday. 

Shares in Asia markets were mixed in Monday trade as investors reacted to economic data that showed a mixed picture of Chinese manufacturing activity in October.

Stocks in News Today

IDFC First Bank: The lender’s net profit rose 50% YoY to Rs 151.74 crore in Q2FY22, from a net profit of Rs 101.41 crore in Q2FY21. Its net interest income (NII) grew 27% year-on-year to Rs 2,272 crore in Q2FY22, from Rs 1,784 crore in Q2FY21. Its net interest margin improved to 5.76% in Q2FY22, as against 4.91% in Q2FY21.
 
Indian Oil Corp: The company posted a net profit of Rs 6,360.05 crore in Q2FY22, from Rs 6,227.31 crore in the same period last year. Revenue from operations rose 46% to Rs 1.69 lakh crore as international oil prices rose to multi-year highs.
 
Adani Transmission: The company posted a 35% increase in net profit at Rs 288.84 crore in July-September quarter, helped by by higher revenues. Its net profit of the company stood at Rs 214.13 crore in the same quarter last year. Total income stood at Rs 2,675.20 crore in the quarter as against Rs 2,306.45 crore in the year-ago period.
 
Ujjivan SFB, Ujjivan Financial Services: Ujjivan Financial Services’ board has approved the amalgamation of the company with its subsidiary Ujjivan SFB to comply with Sebi’s minimum public shareholding rules. The amalgamation has to be approved from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Sebi, public shareholders of the companies involved, as well as the NCLT.
 
DLF: The realty company will launch 3.5 crore square feet area in medium term with a sales potential of around Rs 40,000 crore through various products . These projects will be launched at established locations with infrastructure in place. The company is targeting to launch 77 lakh square feet of projects in the second half of this fiscal year.  
 
NTPC: The company has ordered for 9.3 lakh tonnes of biomass pellets for co-firing in power plants that will help improve air quality, said the power ministry. Another tranche of procurement by NTPC for 25 lakh tonnes is in progress and vendors are invited to submit the offer by November 1.
 
Castrol India: The company reported a 9% fall in profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 185.9 crore in July-September quarter of 2021, from a net profit of Rs 204.6 crore in the same quarter of previous fiscal. Revenue from operations rose to Rs 1,073.2 crore from Rs 883.1 crore in the year-ago period.
