Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange were trading 0.10% higher at 16,276.50, signalling that Dalal Street was headed for a positive opening on Thursday.
Indian rupee gained 9 paise to close at 74.19 against the US dollar.
Asian shares were trading higher, as Japanese index Nikkei rose 0.15% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng advanced 0.34%.
In the US markets, the Dow and the S&P 500 closed lower, while Nasdaq ended higher as investors gauged another set of corporte earnings and the country’s economic data showed a slowdown in July’s jobs growth.

Tata Steel BSL: The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 2478 crore in Q1FY22, as against a net loss of Rs 650 crore in the corresponding period previous year. Its total income increased to Rs 7884 crore in the quarter, from Rs 2710 crore in the same period last year. The company’s total expenses rose to Rs 5405 crore in the quarter, from Rs 3360 crore in the year-ago period.
Tata Communications: The company’s consolidated net profit rose 15% to Rs 296.11 crore in Apr-Jun quarter, as against Rs 257.8 crore in the year-ago period. Its revenue fell 7% to Rs 4103 crore, in the quarter, from Rs 4403 crore in the same period last year. Revenue from data business slipped 2.2% to Rs 3104 core on a year-on-year basis.
Adani Total Gas: The company posted strong first-quarter results with its net profit rising three times to Rs 138 crore, as against Rs 48 crore in the year-ago period. Its operating revenue rose 153% to Rs 522 crore. Sales volumes increased two-fold at 140 million metric standard cubic meters.
Titan: The company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 18 crore in Apr-Jun quarter of FY22, as against a net loss of Rs 297 crore in the corresponding period of last year. The company’s revenue stood at Rs 3519 crore, compared with Rs 2020 crore in the same period of FY21. Titan’s jewellery segment recorded a revenue of Rs 2467 crore in the quarter, versus Rs 1182 crore in the year-ago period.
Hindustan Petroleum Corp: The company has reported a 11% decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 2003.9 crore in Q1FY22, from Rs 2252.65 crore in Q1FY21. Total income was Rs 77980.15 crore in the quarter, as against Rs 46702.09 crore in the year-ago period. The combined gross refinery margin stood $3.31 during the quarter, as against $0.04 in the same period last year.
Thomas Cook: The travel services company posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 93.8 crore in Q1FY22, compared with a net loss of Rs 108.6 crore in Q1FY21. Its operating revenue was Rs 315.7 crore in the quarter, as against Rs 130.87 crore in the year-ago period.
