Nifty futures on Singapore Exchange were trading 0.2% higher at 16,313, indicating that Dalal Street was headed for a higher opening on Wednesday.
Indian rupee fell by 17 paise to end at 74.43 against the US dollar on Tuesday due to strengthening of the greenback in the global markets.
Asian stocks rose in early trade on Wednesday, tracking a record high closing for US stocks on Tuesday as economically sensitive stocks gained. Japan’s Nikkei was up 0.64% on Wednesday and China’s Hang Seng index rose 0.55%.

Zomato: The food delivery company’s consolidated net loss widened to Rs 356 crore in the first quarter of FY22, from Rs 99.8 crore in the same period of last year. Its operating revenue rose 217% to Rs 844.4 crore in the quarter, from Rs 266 crore in the year-ago period. Its gross order value stood at about Rs 4540 crore during the quarter.
Power Grid Corporation of India: The company reported a consolidated net profit at Rs 5,998.28 crore in Apr-Jun quarter of FY22, as against a consolidated net profit of Rs 2,048.42 crore in the year-ago period. Total income of the company rose to Rs 10,391.61 crore in the quarter, from Rs 9,816.72 crore in the corresponding period of FY21.
Deepak Fertilizer and Petrochemicals Corp: The company posted a 7.8% rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 130.83 crore in first quarter of FY22, from Rs 121.14 crore in the year-ago period. Its consolidated revenue stood at Rs 1902.1 crore in Q1, up from Rs 1382 crore in the same period last year.
Computer Age Management Services Ltd: India’s largest registrar and transfer agents of mutual funds reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 63.24 crore in Q1 of FY22, up 58.9% from Rs 39.79 crore in the year-ago period. The Chennai-based company’s revenue from operation stood at Rs 201.18 crore, a rise of 35.36% from Rs 148.6 crore in the same period of last year. Its profit after margin stood at 30.74% in the first quarter of FY22.
Whirlpool of India Ltd: The white goods maker’s Q1FY22 net profit rose 62% to Rs 25.51 crore, from Rs 15.8 crore in the year-ago period. The company’s operating revenue increased 30.5% to Rs 1341 crore, compared with Rs 1027.1 crore in the same period of last year. Total Expenses also climbed 30.1% to Rs 1321.9 crore in the quarter, as against Rs 1016.1 crore in the year-ago period.
Siemens Ltd: The company reported its standalone profit after tax stood at Rs 162 crore in Q1 of FY22, compared with Rs 10 crore in the year-ago period. Its revenue from continuing operations rose to Rs 2,658 crore in the quarter, from Rs 1,149 crore in the same period last year. The company’s new orders stood at Rs 4,341 crore, compared with Rs. 1,767 crore in the corresponding period of last year.
