Post Market Analysis 23-09-2021

Benchmark Indian indices closed at record highs as stocks in Bank, Realty, Metal and Energy gained. The Sensex closed 1.63% higher at 59885.36 and Nifty rose 1.57% to 17822.95.

Among Nifty sectoral indices, Realty (8.66%), Bank (2.24%), Energy (1.83%) and Metal (1.65%) were the top gainers. Nifty Media was the only loser and it fell 1.71% dragged by Zee Entertainment (-5.52%), Inox Leisure (-3.11%) and DB Corp (-3.05%).

Indian rupee appreciated by 22 paise to 73.64 against the US dollar.

Tejas Networks & Bharti Airtel: Tejas Networks’ shares spiked after it said the company has been selected by Airtel to upgrade the telecom operator’s optical network capacity in key metropolitan markets. Tejas will supply, install and support its optical transmission products for extending Airtel’s optical networks towards the edge, supporting 5G backhaul, business-to-business (B2B) services and broadband applications.

Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL): Odisha government has granted mining lease of the Kasia iron and dolomite mine to JSPL, the company said in a statement. The company has been declared as the preferred bidder for the Kasia mine at a premium of 118.1% and the mine has a large resource of 278 million tonnes of iron ore and consists of an average Fe grade of 62.5%.

Infosys: The IT services major acknowledged that some users continued to experience difficulties in accessing the income tax portal and assured that was working expeditiously, in collaboration with the Income Tax Department, to further streamline the filing process. So far, over three crore taxpayers have logged into the portal and successfully completed various transactions, it noted.

RBL Bank: Shareholders of the private-sector bank approved the re-appointment of Vishwavir Ahuja as the managing director and chief executive for the fourth term. About 99.94% of shareholders who participated in the voting favoured his reappointment. Shares of the bank rose 4.13% to close at Rs 186.50.

LIC Housing Finance: The mortgage financier extended its lowest home loan interest rate of 6.66% per cent for loans up to Rs 2 crore. This new offer is available for all borrowers with CIBIL score of 700 and above, including salaried, professional and self-employed. This interest rate is applicable for loans sanctioned from September 22 to November 30, 2021 and if the first disbursement is availed on or before December 31, 2021, it added.
