SGX Nifty futures were trading 0.15% lower at 16,247, signalling that Dalal Street was headed for a negative opening on Tuesday.

Indian rupee declined 11 paise over its previous close to end at 74.26 against the US dollar on Monday.

Asian markets were mixed as Japanese and Australian indices were up 0.73% and 0.16%, respectively, while Chinese indices were down weighed by fall in commodity prices on concerns over rise in cases of delta variant of coronavirus.

Shree Cement: The company’s standalone revenue from operation increased to Rs 3449.5 crore in Q1 of FY22, compared with Rs 2332.4 crore in the year-ago period. The standalone profit after tax rose to Rs 661.72 crore in the quarter, from Rs 370.80 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The total expense almost doubled to Rs 866.66 crore in Q1, from Rs 483.13 crore in the year-ago period.

Indian Hotel Company Limited: The company’s revenue from operation more than doubled to Rs 344.55 crore in Q1 of FY22, from Rs 144 crore in the year-ago period. The company reported a loss of Rs 301.5 crore in the quarter, as against Rs 313 crore in the same period of last year. The losses were attributed to the second wave of the pandemic disrupting the hotel business.

AstraZeneca Pharma India: The drugmaker posted a net profit of Rs 10.24 crore in the first quarter of FY22, down 45% from Rs 18.6 crore in the year-ago period. Its operating revenue stood at Rs 175.40 crore in Q1, as against Rs 193.57 crore in the same period last year. The company’s board of directors has declared an interim dividend of Rs 2 per equity share for FY22, according to its regulatory filing said.

Balrampur Chini Mills: The company posted a 44.7% fall in its consolidated net profit to Rs 76.92 crore in the first quarter of FY22, as against a net profit of Rs 139.09 crore in the same period last year. Its operating revenue in the quarter saw a decline of 20.26% to Rs 1,140.44 crore, compared with Rs 1,430.33 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Clean Science and Technology Limited: The company posted a profit after tax of Rs 546 crore in Q1 of FY22, up 3% from Rs 419 crore in the year-ago period. The company’s total revenue from operation rose 9% to Rs 1463 crore in the quarter, from Rs 1129 crore in Q1 of FY21. Its EBITDA stood at Rs 713 crore in the quarter, as against Rs 561 crore in the year-ago period.
