Pre Market Analysis: Dalal Street may open higher; Adani Group, HDFC Bank and Ashok Leyland in news today

Market Opening - An Overview

Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange were trading 0.47% higher at 17,186.50, signalling that Dalal Street was headed for a positive start on Tuesday.

Asian stocks were trading higher, tracking overnight gains on Wall Street. Japan’s Nikkei rose 0.96%, Topix was 0.86% higher, CSI 300 edged up 0.15%, while Hang Seng was muted.

Indian rupee rose 3 paise to 74.99 against the US dollar on Monday.

Supriya Lifescience will make its stock market debut today. Supriya Lifescience stock was trading at a premium of Rs 137-150 earlier in the grey market. The company raised Rs 700 crore through its IPO.

Adani Group: The group will begin exporting high quality, low sulphur coal from its Carmichael mine in Australia as early as this week. The development comes after fighting a seven-year campaign by climate activists and defying a global push away from fossil fuels. With this, the group taps a new multi-decade source to meet energy needs.

HDFC Bank: The lender has inked a pact with India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) to offer its banking services to the unbanked and underserved segments in semi-urban and rural areas. A memorandum of understanding was signed between HDFC Bank and IPPB to cater to the majority of over 4.7 crore customer base of IPPB.

Ashok Leyland: The truck maker has partnered with Shriram Automall India Limited (SAMIL), a marketplace for pre-owned vehicles and equipment buyers and sellers, to enter the used vehicles business. The companies will launch a physical and digital platform for facilitating the exchange, disposal and purchase of old commercial vehicles.

Axis Bank: The Reserve Bank of India has approved the re-designation of Rajiv Anand as the Deputy Managing Director of Axis Bank, the lender said. His approved term of appointment will be till August 3, 2022.

Torrent Pharma: The company is recalling more than 27,000 bottles of its generic drug, used in lowering high blood pressure, in the US market. The company is recalling 27,312 bottles of the Telmisartan and Hydrochlorothiazide tablets.

Mahindra Holidays & Resorts: The company plans to add over 300 rooms by March to take the overall inventory to 4,500 keys, according to Kavinder Singh, managing director and chief executive of Mahindra Holidays. He added that the 300 rooms will be added to their existing properties at Assonora in Goa and Ganapatiphule in Maharashtra.

Godfrey Phillips India: The cigarette maker announced that Sharad Aggarwal has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer. Aggarwal, who is taking over from Bhisham Wadhera, will be reporting to Godfrey Phillips India President and Managing Director Bina Modi, the company said.

JSW Group: The group has launched an Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy for their employees as their latest Green Initiative. It will facilitate up to Rs 3 lakhs as incentive for its employees to purchase electric four- and two-wheeler and the JSW Electric Vehicle (EV) policy starts January 2022 for the diversified group’s employees across India.

Mindtree Ltd: Markets regulator Sebi imposed a monetary fine on two employees of the company, for disclosure lapses, in violation of insider trading norms. Mindtree had informed Sebi regarding instances of the violation of the code of conduct framed by the company under the Prohibition of Insider Trading (PIT) norms by two of its employees. The regulator has levied a fine of Rs 1 lakh each on them.

Oil India Ltd: The company is setting up a plant to manufacture green hydrogen at its Jorhat oilfield in Assam, the company said in a statement. It will strengthen its bouquet of clean energy offerings by setting up a 100 kW green hydrogen plant at its Pump station-3 in Jorhat, the company said.
