Pre Market Analysis: Dalal Street may open lower; RIL, Mindtree, SBI, TCS in news today

Market Opening - An Overview

Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded 0.42% lower at 18,223.50, signalling that Dalal Street was headed for a negative start on Friday.

Asian shares fell in early trade tracking the US markets after top Federal Reserve officials hinted at fighting inflation aggressively and the Nasdaq 100 fell 2.51%. Nikkei 225 plunged 1.93%, Topix tanked 2.03%, Hang Seng was down 0.62% and CSI 300 lost 0.25%.

Indian rupee gained 3 paise to 73.88 against the US dollar on Thursday.

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL): The conglomerate has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat government to invest Rs 5.95 lakh crore in the green energy space that will create 10 lakh direct and indirect jobs in the state, the company stated in a release. The MoU was signed as part of the investment promotion activity for the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2022.

State Bank of India (SBI): The country’s largest lender said that it has raised $300 million from Regulation S Formosa bonds offering a coupon of 2.49 per cent. The bonds will be listed on Taipei Exchange (TPEx), Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Ltd (SGX-ST) and India International Exchange IFSC Ltd (India INX), the statement said.

Mindtree: The company posted a 34% rise in profit of Rs 437.5 crore in Q3FY22 as against Rs 326.5 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue jumped to Rs 2,750 crore in the reported quarter, up 35.9% from Rs 2023.7 crore in the same period last year.

Tata Consultancy Services: The company’s promoters – Tata Sons and Tata Investment Corporation Ltd – is likelyt to participate in the IT service major’s Rs 18,000 crore buyback offer by tendering about 2.88 crore shares, according to a regulatory filing. The remote e-voting period will commence from January 14, 2022 and end on February 12, 2022. The results of the Postal Ballot will be announced on February 15, 2022, it added.

Future Group: The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) led by Justice M. Venugopal and V.P. Singh has agreed to hear US e-commerce firm Amazon’s plea challenging the Competition Commission of India’s (CCI’s) suspension of approval to the 2019 transaction with Future Group on February 2. The appellate tribunal has directed CCI and Future Coupons Pvt Ltd (FCPL) to file their reply in the next 10 days and Amazon to file a rejoinder.

Tata Metaliks: The company reported lower profit at Rs 35.65 crore in December 2021 quarter as against Rs 75.18 crore in December 2020 quarter. Revenue from operations jumped to Rs 689.80 crore from Rs 526.23 crore in the year-ago period.

Paytm: The fintech company’s Payments Bank has emerged as the biggest receiver of UPI amount with 926.17 million transactions while public sector bank SBI topped the chart of being the biggest remitter in December, according to data released by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).

Sanofi India: The drug firm said that its Managing Director Rajaram Narayanan has put in his papers. The company’s board has accepted the resignation of Narayanan, effective from the close of business hours on April 10, 2022, Sanofi India said in a statement.

Vikas Lifecare: The company acquired 75% stake in Genesis Gas Solutions, a company engaged in the business developing “smart products” including smart gas meters & power distribution solutions.

Plastiblends India: The company reported higher profit at Rs 12.07 crore in December 2021 quarter against Rs 11.37 crore in December 2020 quarter. Operating revenue rose to Rs 174.14 crore from Rs 160.04 crore YoY.
